Drop by Pittsburgh Glass Center for a quick introduction to glassmaking without needing to book ahead. You'll have about 20 minutes to create either a paperweight or a blown glass ornament with guidance from experienced artists. The whole experience costs $55 per person, and no prior glassmaking knowledge is necessary—this is designed as an accessible first taste of the craft. Children ages 5 and up can participate alongside an adult. Just arrive and sign up at the Front Desk when you get there; no pre-registration required. Keep in mind that only 6 spots are available each hour, and these can fill up quickly. Since the glass needs time to cool, you'll pick up your finished piece five days later (shipping can be arranged for an extra fee). This is a great option if you want a hands-on creative experience without the commitment of a longer class.
