Walk In + Make-It-Now

This is a casual drop-in glassmaking experience at Pittsburgh Glass Center where families can create a keepsake in about 20 minutes or less. With guidance from the center's artists, you'll make either a paperweight or a blown glass ornament. The $55 cost covers instruction and your finished piece. No prior experience is necessary, and children ages 5 and up can participate with an adult alongside them. Since no advance registration is required, you simply show up and sign in at the Front Desk—though keep in mind that only 6 spots are available per hour and they tend to fill quickly. One thing to know: your finished item needs five days to cool completely before you can pick it up, though shipping can be arranged for an additional fee. Just check the calendar before you go, as there are occasional dates when this activity isn't offered.
