Walk In + Make-It-Now

This is your chance to try glassmaking without any prior experience or planning required. Drop by the Pittsburgh Glass Center and work with their artists to create either a glass paperweight or blown glass ornament in just 20 minutes or less. At $55 per person, it's an affordable way to get a real taste of what glassmaking is all about. Children ages 5 and up can participate as long as an adult is there with them. Just show up and sign in at the Front Desk—no advance registration needed, though keep in mind that only 6 spots are available each hour and they tend to fill up quickly. Your finished piece will need about 5 days to cool down before you can pick it up, and if you'd prefer to have it shipped instead, that option is available for an extra charge. The center does close on certain special dates, so it's worth checking the calendar ahead of time to confirm the activity will be running when you plan to visit.
