Drop by Pittsburgh Glass Center for a quick introduction to glassmaking without needing an appointment. In just 20 minutes or less, you'll create either a paperweight or blown glass ornament with guidance from experienced artists. At $55 per person, it's an affordable way to experience glasswork firsthand—no prior knowledge required. Kids ages 5 and up can participate alongside an adult, making it a fun family outing. Since this is a walk-in format, space fills up quickly with only 6 seats available each hour, so arriving early is wise. Simply sign up at the front desk when you get there. Keep in mind that your finished piece will need five days to cool before you can pick it up (shipping can be arranged for an extra fee).
