Veterans Day Open House

Join Pittsburgh Glass Center for an afternoon celebrating veterans and community creativity. The center will host free glassblowing demonstrations throughout the event, giving visitors a chance to watch skilled artists at work. Veterans with valid identification are invited to create their own fused glass suncatcher at no cost—a hands-on way to make something beautiful while honoring their service. Friends and family members are welcome to join in the creative experience alongside veterans. While the suncatcher activity is complimentary for veterans, accompanying guests are asked to contribute a minimum of $5 to support future veteran-centered programming and accessible community events. Kids ages five and up can participate in making suncatchers with adult supervision (required for those under 14). The experience takes place in a climate-controlled setting where you'll arrange colorful glass pieces into your own design, then the center fires everything in a kiln to fuse it together. Whether you're looking to create, connect with others, or simply spend time together, this welcoming event is designed for the whole family.
