Stewardship Days – Hays Woods Park

Stewardship Days at Hays Woods offers families a chance to get involved in hands-on conservation work at Pittsburgh's expansive 626-acre urban forest. During these volunteer sessions, you'll participate in activities like ecological restoration, invasive species removal, trail maintenance, park cleanup, and garden care. It's a meaningful way to learn about the park's ecosystems while making a real difference in the community. The program runs from 9:00 am to noon, giving families a manageable morning commitment. You'll enjoy exploring the beautiful trails at Hays Woods while contributing to its upkeep. Before attending, please review the safety guidelines and liability waiver on the event page. Note that a photographer may be present to document the program for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy's promotional use—just let them know if you prefer not to be photographed.
