Stewardship Days – Hays Woods Park

Join a morning of hands-on conservation work at Pittsburgh's expansive 626-acre Hays Woods Park. During these stewardship sessions, families and volunteers help restore the forest through activities like invasive species removal, trail maintenance, park cleanup, and entry-garden care. It's a meaningful way to learn about ecological restoration while contributing directly to the health of this beautiful greenspace. The program runs from 9:00 am to noon and combines work with exploration—you'll get to hike the park's trails while making a real difference. Before attending, please review the safety guidelines and liability waiver on the event page. Note that photographers may be present to document the program, so let staff know if you prefer not to be photographed. These stewardship events happen monthly throughout the year, offering multiple opportunities to participate.
