Owling at the Moon

Evening owling adventure at Powdermill Nature Reserve—spot owls under moonlight.

Your family is invited to an evening celebration of owls at Powdermill Nature Reserve. Over the three-hour program, kids and adults can enjoy hands-on activities including owl pellet dissection, crafts, and lantern-making. There's also a live owl presentation led by experts from the Richard P. Mellon Powdermill Avian Research Center, who'll share fascinating facts about the owls that live in our region. Warm up with complimentary popcorn and fresh apple cider while you listen to stories by the campfire. The event is designed for all ages, so whether your children are five or fifteen, there's something to engage everyone. You'll explore the Owl Trail to learn about native owl species and take on challenges that lead to prize wins. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child—an affordable way to spend an evening outdoors and discover more about these remarkable nocturnal birds.
