Your young explorer will step into Ohio's distant past during this full-day adventure at Miami Whitewater Forest. Kids ages 6–11 dig through mock excavation pits searching for real Ordovician fossils and ancient artifacts like pottery and atlatls, channeling their inner archeologist and paleontologist. It's hands-on learning that brings natural history to life. Throughout the day, campers discover how Ohio's landscape and people have changed over time, from prehistoric plants to games like lacrosse that Native Americans played. With a treasure map in hand, children uncover the stories hidden beneath the surface while learning about the handicrafts and mysteries that shaped the region. To join this time-traveling camp, registration is required. Plan for a full day from morning through afternoon.
