Mindful Museum at Carnegie Museum of Art
Carnegie Museum of Art offers Mindful Museum, a comprehensive program designed for visitors 55 and older who want to engage with art while nurturing their physical and mental wellbeing. Each Wednesday, participants can explore a rotating selection of activities including chair and wheelchair yoga, guided drawing and art-making sessions, 30-minute gallery tours, meditation classes, and art history courses. New this year are special sessions featuring guest senior artists and classes taught by museum curators, so there's always something fresh to experience. You choose what appeals to you each week—whether you're seeking creative expression, learning, or simply time spent in a beautiful space surrounded by art.
A one-time registration fee of $65 for members or $95 for non-members grants you unlimited access to all Mindful Museum offerings. Wednesday participants also enjoy early museum entry at 9 a.m., discounted refreshments at the café, and $5 parking. The museum offers scholarships for those needing financial assistance—just contact the Program Registration Office at 412.622.3288. Some activities happen on-site weekly while others vary by week, and "The Bank" provides online options anytime. Both new and returning visitors are welcome to join this thoughtfully designed program.
