LDA of PA presents Early Literacy Tutoring
Early literacy tutoring program at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh–Hill District.
Learning Disabilities Association of Pennsylvania brings structured reading support to students in kindergarten through second grade. Small groups of up to four children work with a tutor using hands-on, multisensory techniques designed to make literacy engaging and effective. The program covers essential skills like phonics, sight words, letter formation, spelling, handwriting, vocabulary, and reading comprehension—all presented through interactive activities that appeal to different learning styles.
This program requires a commitment of two sessions per week at your chosen library location to see meaningful progress. Sessions run either from 3–4 pm or 4–5 pm, so you'll choose the time slot that works best for your family. To get started, you'll need to register your child online. Once you've completed registration, LDA of PA will contact you by email or phone to confirm your child's placement in the appropriate class level.
