Kids Club: Cherokee Pinch Pots

Kids Club: Cherokee Pinch Pots

Learn Cherokee culture and hand-craft a clay pinch pot at Carnegie Library.

Your child will explore Cherokee culture during this hands-on Kids Club session at the East Liberty library branch. They'll learn about Cherokee traditions and pick up some words from the Cherokee language, then create their own pinch pot to take home—a classic pottery technique that's fun and accessible for young crafters. This program is designed for school-age children in grades K–5 and runs for one hour. It's part of the library's November celebration of Native American and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month, offering kids a meaningful introduction to Native American cultures and artistic practices. If you have questions or want to register, you can reach Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh at 412-622-3114 or info@carnegielibrary.org.
