Kids Club: Cherokee Pinch Pots
Kids learn about Cherokee culture and hand-craft clay pinch pots at the Brookline library.
Your child will explore Cherokee heritage during this hands-on library program designed for kindergarten through fifth grade. Kids will learn about Cherokee culture, pick up some words from the Cherokee language, and then get creative making their own pinch pot—a classic pottery technique they can take home. The session runs one hour and fits nicely into an after-school schedule.
This activity is part of the library's Native American and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month programming in November. It's a great way for kids to develop both cultural knowledge and artistic skills in a welcoming library setting. For more details or to register, reach out to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Brookline location directly.
