Holiday Make-It-Now

This holiday event invites families to create custom glass ornaments with hands-on guidance from experienced artists at Pittsburgh Glass Center. You can choose from four different techniques: blown glass, fused glass, flameworking, or frosted ornaments. Each activity takes 20 minutes to an hour, so you can try one or tackle multiple projects depending on your family's interests and time. All activities are designed to be beginner-friendly, with instructors supporting you through each step. Pricing ranges from $25 to $45 per person depending on the ornament style, and there are age minimums (most start at age 5, with flameworking best for ages 8 and up). The fusing activity happens in a comfortable, climate-controlled classroom, while the other techniques take place in the hot shop or flame shop—both staffed to keep you safe and as comfortable as possible. Registration is required to participate. This is a perfect way to create lasting memories while taking home one-of-a-kind decorations your family made together.
