Holiday Hot Jam

Join the Pittsburgh Glass Center for a free evening celebrating the season with live glassblowing demonstrations and handmade holiday ornaments. This special event lets families get up close to watch artists work with molten glass and feel the heat of the creative process. You'll also have the chance to explore contemporary glass art exhibitions throughout the studio. Beyond watching the demonstrations, your family can participate in hands-on activities suited to different ages and comfort levels. Try the Hot Shop to blow and shape glass (ages 5+), design fused glass suncatchers in a climate-controlled classroom (ages 5+), or work with a tabletop torch in the Flame Shop to create small glass objects (ages 8+). All activities are free, and the center provides water stations. The event celebrates 25 years of the glass center's mission to teach, create, and promote glass art.
