Hello Neighbor: Craft Bazaar and Study Buddy Storytellers

Craft bazaar and storytelling celebration at Carnegie Museum of Art.

This free event celebrates the creative traditions and entrepreneurial spirit of Pittsburgh's refugee and immigrant communities. You'll browse a marketplace featuring handmade goods, artwork, and crafts created by local artisans, with opportunities to chat with makers, learn their stories, and discover the skills and cultural practices that enrich our region. The bazaar is more than shopping—it's a chance for families to gather, connect with neighbors, and experience the diverse ways people build community together. After exploring the marketplace, head to the Art Theater to see photographs taken by youth participants in Hello Neighbor's Study Buddy Program. These images offer a young person's view of life in Pittsburgh and are displayed alongside historical materials spanning nearly ninety years of refugee experiences in the city. It's a meaningful way to reflect on belonging and the stories that have shaped Pittsburgh's communities. Best of all, admission to this event is completely free—no museum ticket required.
