Haunted History Center Halloween

Your family is invited to spend a spooky Sunday at the Heinz History Center, where Halloween activities fill all six floors of the museum. Kids will love the hands-on experiences: create slime while learning the science behind it with the Steel City Ghostbusters, enjoy free candy from a classic candy bar, explore bones and learn about Ice Age creatures with the Bethany College Bone Lab, hunt for eerie objects throughout the building, get face painting and temporary tattoos, and dance at the Little Monster Mash. There's also a chance to browse strange archival materials and see the new Planet Ice exhibit featuring prehistoric beasts. Children ages 17 and under get free admission through the museum's "Free for Kids" initiative, though everyone needs a ticket and advance online registration is strongly recommended. Adults pay regular admission. Costumes are encouraged (but leave masks and toy weapons at home for safety). As a bonus, kids can grab a free special-edition orange pickle pin while supplies last, and there's a mobile coffee bar outside if you need a caffeine boost. All activities run throughout the event, so there's plenty to explore at your own pace.
