Exploring History through Literature Workshop

This three-hour workshop invites students to dive into a pivotal moment in American history by connecting literature with hands-on historical exploration. Participants will examine the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794 through PowerPoint presentations, primary source analysis, and interactive activities designed to bring this turbulent period to life. To get the most from the experience, students should read the novel *March in the Morning* by Jack Maurer beforehand (available at the Bradford House gift shop) and complete a creative writing or art project to bring with them. A study guide will be provided to help with preparation. The workshop accommodates up to 20 participants and includes lunch—pizza and fresh vegetables are provided. The $25 fee covers all activities and materials. Students will leave with a deeper understanding of the Rebellion's key figures and why this event matters in the broader story of the nation. This is ideal for young history enthusiasts and anyone curious about connecting literature to real historical events.
