On Friday, September 4, families are invited to a free evening where glassmaking meets nature appreciation. Watch skilled artists demonstrate how they transform molten glass into birds and nests right before your eyes, while learning fascinating facts about crows from National Aviary experts. Kids can participate in hands-on activities, creating their own flameworked glass eggs or fused glass bird-themed suncatchers to take home. This event combines live demonstrations, interactive workshops, and educational talks in a fun, accessible environment. Younger children can design fused glass suncatchers in a comfortable, climate-controlled space, while older kids (8+) might try the tabletop torch flameworking experience. The whole family can move around the studio, watch the artists work, and feel the energy of the glass furnaces.
