50+ Walking Series with AARP: Invasive Species at Bethel Green

Join an Allegheny Land Trust educator for a guided walk through Bethel Green designed specifically for adults 50 and older. This free program, sponsored by AARP Pennsylvania, takes you on a moderate hike covering about 1.5 to 2 miles with plenty of stopping points along the way. You'll learn to identify invasive plant and animal species thriving in the area, understand how they affect the local ecosystem, and discover what's being done to manage them. The pace is comfortable and includes breaks throughout so you can catch your breath and absorb what you're learning. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore a local conservation area while connecting with nature and your community. The hike happens rain or shine, so come prepared for whatever weather arrives. Simply drive through the open gate and park in the larger lot on the property.
